Hygiene and sanitation

Kasese district has over the years been challenged with Hygienic challenges especially in rural areas,The district has been faced with the epidermic diseases like cholera,dysentery,scabbies among others and this has been worsened among the Young people who lack guidance and cancelling because of their illitrate parents and some times because others are orphans and helpless.

RYIC is therefore committed towards doing its best it can to sensitise the young people and create awareness of the many epidermic diseases that can result out of poor personal hyigiene.For example the members Have volountarily sacrificed their time and Energy to go to different primary and secondary schools to educate young people on how they can keep healthy.






RYIC has mobilised the young people to form themselves into small groups in different schools of different areas who have composed songs Highlighting the dangers and prevention of different diseases like HIV/AIDS,STD'S among others which have been some of the most killer and rampant diseases in the district.




The songs create attention of the young people and cause a great impact on their lives.RYIC Carryout home to home survey by the help of their staff volunteers to see the progress and trigger more impact.Challenge has always been transport,financial constraints,illiteracy of the inhabitants and cultural values and norms in the community However,As an organization we are committed for a change for tomorrow in our  areas and we keep trying and involving the stakeholders to advocate and rise the voices of the community for sustainable health.
